Milo has been to visit his Brother, Aunt and Mum so far. On a trip to the shop he comes across Mr Randall, shopkeeper in the local store. Mr Randall listens to Milo’s story and gives him a business idea to buy some fruit and make smoothies.
This is a concept that, while we all dream of making it big as an entrepreneur, might not have come up with children in this age group.
You could use this opportunity to discuss movies that show kids with lemonade stands, or washing cars for the neighbours.
Perhaps, taking the opportunity to make smoothies, at home or if you have the facilities at school. You can also use role play to help develop this concept. Students could work on their own, in teams, you decide what works best for your group.

Our resources take this idea slowly by thinking about what a smoothie is and giving an opportunity to design something, then consider costs and later, how much to sell them for. We have also provided some discussion questions as well as classroom and home learning ideas.
